De Maria! You’ve posted a fantastic article that I feel is the very core of why America has lost its family values. While I lived in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and Columbia, it was common to have children in the late twenties and even early thirties remaining at home until they either became married or simply decided to live on their own do to a carrier position or simply by choice.

But here in the U.S., I can not tell you how many times I heard my parents and many other parents tell their children: “When you turn 18 you better start thinking about taking care of yourself!” Now that my parents are both in their 80s, they appreciate having a child close by that can help with even the simply things. Nursing homes have become a parking place for unwanted parents and I feel it is just truly sad.

Yeah, I hear it so often, at work. The men will say, “When they turn 18, they’re getting out of my house!” I don’t get it. But you’re right, it is a symptom of decay in family values. Another one of Satan’s tricks.
