    De Maria, I completely disagree. It becomes quite obvious that Confession to an Apostolic successor MUST be implied when Christ commands the Apostles: “Whosoever sins you shall forgive…” The only way possible for a sin to be forgiven by an Apostolic successor (priest) is TOLD and MADE AWARE of the sin. Otherwise, how else could a priest forgive sins?

    Protestants want to dance around the obvious simply because they refuse to see the act of humility that is involved in the Act of Confession. Humility is the VERY THING that Christ commanded us to practice.
