    Great post De Maria!
One of the more idiotic arguments that is NOW being used to attack the “Socratic argument” or “philosophical” argument” is that Jesus never told the Apostles, or any one else for that matter, to use philosophy to discern the truth of His Teachings. Yet, when one looks at the very definition of “philosophy” they will see that it means “the love of wisdom”. Jesus Christ is The Word and contains ALL Wisdom, JUST AS THE SCRIPTURES TELL US. So for many of these fundamental protestants to make such a claim is completely contrary to what the Scripture says.

As Genesis says 1:26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.” 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Looks to me like Scripture supports the idea that man CAN INDEED use philosophy to discern the truth because it came directly from God.

God Bless you for defending the Catholic Church
